Chris is a professional freelance flute player, and a graduate of the Birmingham Conservatoire where he studied flute and piccolo under renowned flute players including: Diane Clarke; Marie-Christine Zupancic; Jonathan Rimmer; Judith Hall; and Andrew Lane.
Chris has performed in orchestral concerts with the New English Concert Orchestra, appeared with the Walsall Symphony Orchestra performing Reinecke's Concerto in D major for flute & orchestra, performed in recitals and masterclasses, and recorded his debut album Luci d'inverno.
During his time at the conservatoire, Chris performed regularly as part of all of the main ensembles including the: Symphony Orchestra when their performance of Verdi's 'Requiem' was broadcast on BBC Radio 3; Opera Orchestra; Chamber Orchestra; and Jazz Orchestra; and has also played principal flute with the CBSO Youth Orchestra. Chris has also participated in masterclasses taken by players including: Jeanne Galway, Robert Winn; Marie-Christine Zupancic; Karen Jones; Katherine Baker; and Roland Sutherland.
Outside of his studies at the Conservatoire, Chris has performed as part of: the 'Sunday Classics' concert series at The Spotted Dog in Digbeth; the '1240' arts series at St Paul's Church, Birmingham; the 'Lunchtime Live' concert series at St Stephen's Church, Bristol; and the 'Elevenses' concert series at Holy Trinity Church, Westbury on Trym.
Chris has also performed with South Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra, the Amadeus Orchestra Academy, the Central England Ensemble, and the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra.
Chris enjoys delivering Education & Outreach projects and has recently delivered workshop concerts to schools as part of the 'Mad Cap Musicians'.
